Project Designer /  Checker

 

 

Bidell Equipment www.bidell.com, a division of Total Energy Services Ltd. and a Calgary-based, Canadian corporation, is a leading supplier of reciprocating and rotary screw natural gas compressors from 50 to 2000 brake horsepower.  Bidell’s innovative Engineering team is well known for customer-specific engineered and designed solutions.

Growing market demand for its products, and a re-assignment of duties within the team to better manage the increased workload, has resulted in an addition to the Design team.  This position will appeal to an energetic, seasoned individual who has already demonstrated success as a Project Designer, or a Design Checker with the experience and ability to contribute as a Designer within a dynamic organization.  The Project Designer is an essential member of the Engineering team and will contribute to the custom design of compressors and the preparation of detailed client and fabrication drawings.  S/he will participate in project kick-off meetings and in-progress reviews of drawings, as well as research new design details.  The Designer will also be required to review complete drawing packages, to ensure dimensional accuracy.

The successful candidate will possess an Engineering Design and Drafting Technologies (EDDT) diploma from SAIT or equivalent; 4 to 7 years related piping and compressor package design experience; a thorough knowledge of ProCAD 2002; and the ability to communicate through clear, concise drawings.  The ideal candidate will also have experience on CADWorks and be willing to assist others during the scheduled conversion.

Marketing Manager Home Building Industry
 

   

The Alberta New Home Warranty Program (www.anhwp.com) is a unique, well-established and industry-governed program providing leading edge products and services for new homebuyers and builders throughout the province.  Its thirty-year record of success underscores the soundness of the model and validates industry leadership provided by the Program.  Builder Members are committed to continuous improvement, accountability and disclosure. 

There is an ongoing need to enhance the relationship between Builder Members and the Program and to attract new members, through effective marketing of the value of services, products and initiatives of the Program and through increased consumer awareness of this source of industry strength.  The Alberta New Home Warranty Program is about to take the next step to secure its position of leadership in this fast-paced industry, by adding a Marketing Manager to its marketing team.

The position is to research, develop and execute marketing programs - within the overall marketing plan - that strengthen the relationship between Builder Members and the Program.  The Manager is to work closely with all members of the Marketing team and provide high energy, creative leadership that influences the thinking of Program management as well as Builder Members. The Manager is responsible for the flawless execution of programs and provides vital leadership, both conceptual and structural, to their development. 

The successful candidate will possess highly developed problem solving skills; great analytical skills of both primary and secondary data; be results oriented; demonstrate initiative and sound judgement; create a positive, motivating environment; possess broad knowledge of marketing tools in general and, more specifically, the ability to select the correct tool to develop programs with appeal to the member base and that align with the Program’s brand strategy.  The position requires a thorough understanding of the Alberta single-and multi-family construction market place and the Builder Members.  The ideal candidate will have post-secondary academic training in marketing plus 3 to 5 years in a similar role in industry; the ability and desire to continue to grow professionally.
